Dear Parents:

Whew! There's only one more week and then we're on holidays! the time has gone by so quickly.

This week is full of activities. it will also just zoom by.

Here are the items and activities to remember.

Our food drive is still underway. We have yet to reach our goal of 1000 items.

Wednesday morning the students will have a presentation from Colonel By Secondary School's C flats singing group. This presentation is always amazing and the students usually enjoy it.

Thursday morning we go to Colonel By to try out the final version of the math games created with our partners.

Friday is Pajama Day and more. After recess we will have a whole school BINGO. Then there will be a movie for C House and we will finish the day in the gym with some songs and dances.

I would like to take this opportunity to with everyone a wonderful, safe and health holiday. I look forward to seeing your children back at school in January.

Semaine de 7 - 11 décembre

Hi parents,

Here we are in the second week of December. I'd be happy if the weather stayed this

warm until the holidays.

This week we are starting our Science unit on La Lumière et Le Son (Light and Sound). In

order to complete the experiments for this unit, we need several small flashlights. If you

have any to spare, please send them in with your child. We only need them until the

holidays
.

Yesterday we went to Colonel By to meet with our partners and check out

their progress on the video games. The students were quite excited to be inside the high

school. The games are coming along nicely. We go again on Friday afternoon.

Robert Hopkins is having the yearly food drive. Please send in some non-perishable food

items. Our goal is 1000 things.

POPCORN : Friday is the next popcorn day. $1.00 a bag

DEVOIRS: The same routine as last week. The students record the title, author and whether

or not they liked what they read. They need to explain their answer.

Semaine de 30 novembre - 4 décembre

It's hard to believe it's already December. We're heading into a busy time at school.
With the colder weather, please make sure your child comes with warm clothing. They are expected to be outside for Recess. It is a good idea to label hats, mitts and snowpants. Many students end up having the same styles.

The Junior classes have started a joint project with students from Colonel By. We are working together to create a video game that helps students practice Math skills. We've already met once with our high school partners to plan out the game. The next step is for us to go to Colonel By and see what they've been able to come up with so far. We will be going over on December 7, 11 and 17. Please sign and return the permission slip. I'd hate to have to leave any students behind.

In Sciences, we are finishing up our unit on Habitats. I sent home the unit test to be signed. If you haven't seen it yet, please ask your child. All the students have presented their dioramas. What amazing work. They are quite a creative class. We are inviting some other classes to come see them this week before I send them back home.

Devoirs: This week the students added a page to their orange Carnet de Lecture. They are expected to fill in the title, author and say whether or not they liked their book. They need to explain their answer.
