Semaine de 22 - 26 février

Hello,
It's a regular five day week again, (at least it should be) There seems to be a lot going on at Robert Hopkins in the next few weeks.

Tuesday: It is Toonie Tuesday. For every $2.00 they bring in, the student's name will be entered in a                  draw to be picked to throw a pie at Mr. Thompson, Mrs.Belliveau or Mrs. Cudmore. Only                    two students from each class will be chosen. All the money raised goes to the Education
               Foundation.

Wednesday: We are participating in a workshop put on by Star Gymnastics.
Library Day Remember to bring back library books.

Thursday: Outdoor Fun Day. The student teachers have organized various games and activities for
the students. Remember the children will be spending much of the day
                                                outdoors. Dress appropriately.

Friday: We have our monthly assembly.

Devoirs:  We are working on identifying key points and summarizing what we read. This week the                     students are expected to complete the graphic organizer in their orange duotang. They                         know that I want more than one sentence answers.

Have a great week.

Semaine de 16 - 19 février

Here we are with another short week. I hope everybody was able to enjoy some warm family time over the long weekend. Now we are back into winter snow. What a lot of snow.

Because Monday was a holiday and Tuesday is a snow day, I will not be assigning the orange duotang for Devoirs this week. I still expect the students to read nightly but there is no written component for them to complete.

At school it is business as usual. In French we are continuing to work on writing paragraphs. In grammaire we are working on l'imparfait form of verbes.
We are looking deeper at L'Egypte Ancienne in Etudes Sociales and comparing their daily lives with ours.

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me through the Agenda of office.

Semaine de 1-5 février,

Hello parents,

It's the start of a new month. So long to the January blahs and here's to a fantastic February.

We are starting a new unit in Etudes Sociales this week. We are starting Ancient Civilizations. This week we will start looking at life in Ancient Egypt.

In Gym we are wrapping up our unit on volleyball.

The noon hour clubs start this week. Many of the students are involved in these activities. They take place during the second nutrition break. A big Thank You goes out to the parents who volunteer to run these. I know the students enjoy them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me through your child's agenda.

*Special note*
Report cards will be sent home this Thursday.
